This is a Late 18th Century Scottish Highlanders Sgian Dubh & solid hardwood presentation case.

The Sgian Dubh is a typical late 18th Century styled piece and is based on historical specimens of the time.
The black wooden hilt is hand carved with vigorous celtic knot work much in the style of the traditional early 18th century fighting dirks.

The pommel cap and ferrule reinforce the wooden hilt and protect against damage.
