This dirk has been styled on surviving historical milotary dirks of the late 19 th century.The wooden hilt has been carved in a basket weave pattern and decorated with metal nails. As opposed to the more celtic styled hilts of the previous century, the pommel cap and ferrule protect the hilt against damage and a small fork and knife are carried one above the other in the metal mounted sheath. This practice was common on dirks of quality at this time. Dirk measures 48 cm in length and comes in presentation box.
